The Membrane Regulator is located at the exit of the CP3 Water Pump and controls the line pressure; thus, the water flow is uniform and the pump is quieter. The pump will increasingly become louder if the Membrane Regulator is not functioning properly. It is one of the most commonly replaced parts due to scale build-up and broken O-Rings. It also is the easiest internal part to replace. Use pliers to release the Hairpin Clip. Turn the Membrane Regulator counterclockwise to release it from the Pump and make sure the Pump O-Ring is removed with the Membrane Regulator. It is recommended to apply a thin layer of plumbers tape (Teflon Tape) around the threads to ensure an airtight connection. The female threads inside the Pump may be slightly worn in older machines. Includes the pressure hose and water pump o-rings.
